The Process and Necessity of Domain Name Resolution of Domain Name Server

Release time: 2022-02-22 12:01:45

1. Resolution process

Server is the abbreviation of British Domain Name Server. Each domain name must have at least two servers, the domain name, so that if one of the server domain names has a problem, the other can return data about the domain name. The server can have more than two domain name systems, but all the domain name system records on the server should be the same.

On the DNS server, there are DNS records of domain names, such as records and MX records. The record is used to specify the IP address corresponding to the host name (or domain name). MX records the mail server used to resolve domain names.

To understand why domain name resolution takes so long, we need to understand the domain name resolution process and the role of the DNS server

Each computer on the Internet is assigned an IP address, and data transmission is actually carried out between different IP addresses. Including the computers we use when surfing the Internet at home, they will also be assigned an IP address after being connected to the Internet, which is dynamic in most cases. In other words, if you turn off the modem and turn on the Internet again, your Internet users will randomly assign a new IP address.

In essence, the server website is also a networked computer, but it is more suitable for the configuration as a server, and it is placed in the data center to maintain a low temperature and low dust environment with security. These servers use fixed IP addresses to connect to the Internet.

A domain name is resolved to a server, and the web file is placed on the server so that the user's computer can know which server to go to to obtain the web page information of the domain name. This is achieved through the domain name server

When the browser enters a domain name in the browser address box, or clicks the link of other websites to come to this domain name, the browser sends a domain name request to the user's Internet access provider. The DNS server of the access provider should query the domain name database to see what the DNS server of this domain name is. Then grab the domain name system records in the domain name system server, that is, get the IP address that the domain name points to. After obtaining the IP information, access the provider's server to grab the web page content from the server corresponding to the IP address, and then transmit it to the request browser.

This process is very complicated to describe, but it is actually completed in less than one or two seconds.

2. Necessity of analysis

After the user registers the domain name and purchases the host service, you must first resolve the domain name to the purchased host before you can see the website content, otherwise you will not be able to see the website content. In most cases, after changing the domain name server, you can't see the website content immediately, but it takes several hours or even a day or two to open your website.
