At the first Huawei Developers Conference in 2015, Huawei released its developer ecological strategy and "fertile land" plan for developers. It plans to invest $1 billion in five years to enable and help global developers to carry out technological and commercial innovation based on Huawei's open and open products and services.

Four years later, especially after the official launch of Huawei Cloud, Huawei has transformed from the traditional impression of ICT hardware infrastructure innovation driven company into a company integrating hardware and software and driven by collaborative innovation.

Among them, Huawei Cloud Kunpeng Ecology has received support from top international open source organizations and manufacturers. Kunpeng Ecology provides a comprehensive and three-dimensional service system from chips, hardware ecology, software ecology, cloud computing, industry solutions, etc. Based on Kunpeng processors, Huawei Cloud launched Kunpeng cloud services and solutions, opening a new and diversified architecture on the cloud.

Around the Kunpeng technology system, Huawei has created a Kunpeng community integrating technical support, knowledge sharing and industrial mutual assistance. The community covers software ecology, product services, solutions, application markets, cooperation plans, Kunpeng forums, learning certification, Kunpeng laboratories and other modules.

In terms of software, Huawei began to develop the server operating system EulerOS in 2010. At present, it has been widely used in communication, storage, cloud and other products, with more than 100000 sets deployed. At the 2019 Huawei HC Conference, Huawei announced the open source server operating system. The name of the open source version is openEuler. Huawei will support partners to release commercial versions based on openEuler, and support mainstream applications and software in various industries to migrate to the operating system based on openEuler.

Because of its independent innovation capability in the whole stack, from chips to servers to cloud platforms, Huawei has a stable position in the forefront of technology. The deep collaboration of software and hardware also enables Huawei cloud services to have extreme performance.

Enjoying technical ability, making outstanding developers

At present, data, algorithms and computing power are the three basic conditions for the development of artificial intelligence. China is relatively strong in data, which is China's competitive advantage in the field of global artificial intelligence. With the great development of the Internet and mobile Internet, coupled with China's demographic dividend, a large amount of rich Internet data has been generated. The next great development of 5G and the Internet of Things will also bring massive machine data. However, in terms of algorithm and computing power, China is still in a backward stage. Taking Huawei Cloud Data Center as an example, the server cost has accounted for more than 60%, and computing is becoming the mainstay of the data center. At the same time, the demand for AI computing power has increased more than 10 times every year. It is estimated that by 2025, AI computing power will account for more than 80% of the computing power of the data center. Huawei has started the pre research work of AI chip infrastructure since 2014. After two years of argumentation, it officially launched the research and development of Ascend Ascent AI chip in 2016. In October 2018, HC Conference released AI chip Ascent 310 and Ascent 910, as well as algorithm and hardware system products, and now it has developed into an industrial layout of "one cloud, two wings, and two engines".

One cloud refers to Huawei Cloud, which provides a safe and reliable hybrid cloud through full stack innovation, and becomes a black land of ecological partners, providing the world with inclusive computing power.

The two wings refer to intelligent computing services and intelligent data and storage services. In the field of intelligent computing, it provides diversified computing power of "Kunpeng+Shengteng+x86+GPU" for the end, edge and cloud. In the field of intelligent data and storage, it integrates storage, big data, database and AI, and focuses on the whole life cycle of data to optimize the cost of each bit of data and maximize the value of each bit of data.

Dual engines refer to two basic chip families built around "Kunpeng" and "Shengteng" to build heterogeneous computing architecture.

Based on Shengteng 910 and 310 AI processors, Huawei launched the world's fastest AI training cluster Atlas 900, AI training server Atlas 800, smart station Atlas 500, AI reasoning and training card Atlas 300 and AI acceleration module Atlas 200, completing the layout of Atlas's full range of products, covering the whole scene of cloud, edge and end, and providing strong computing power for training and reasoning. Based on the unified Da Vinci architecture and full scene AI computing framework, it can achieve cloud edge collaboration and accelerate the intelligent reconstruction of the whole industry.

In addition, in order to adapt to the upcoming 5G era, Huawei Cloud brings together Huawei's 5G technical advantages and has the collaborative advantages of "end, edge, management, and cloud" to help developers seize the development opportunities in the 5G era. At the same time, in the 5G era, massive mobile intelligent terminal applications are moving from the end to the cloud. Kunpeng Cloud computing and intelligent terminals are also based on ARM instruction sets, which has the advantage of natural end cloud isomorphism. At the same time, Huawei Cloud has made a strong appearance at many top technology summits in the industry, which is refreshing. Huawei Cloud has opened developer communities and cloud schools on its official website to help developers grow. At the same time, Huawei Cloud has also broken down the technologies and skills that developers focus on through micro authentication and other means. Upgrade of "fertile land", add fresh blood to the black land

In 2018, Huawei Cloud actively promoted the developer ecology, launched the Huawei Cloud fertile land AI developer enabling plan, enabling developers to become the "black land" of cloud ecology. Today, Huawei has 1.3 million registered developers, and more than 13000 enterprise developer partners are innovating products and solutions on Huawei's black land to create value for customers.

In the 2019 Huawei HC Conference, the fertile soil plan 2.0 was officially released. Huawei Cloud Land 2.0 plans to continue to increase its weight. It will invest 1.5 billion dollars in the next five years to build a developer ecosystem, and continue to sublimate under the guidance of the LEADS concept (Lab as Service, End to End, Agile, Dedicated, Social). It will optimize Huawei's processes, communities, resource allocation, etc. for the understanding, learning, construction, and listing of developers' development history, To enable developers to grow more efficiently on Huawei's platform, Huawei will also set up LGF (Learning and Growth Fund)/PDF (Product Development Fund)/MDF (Market Development Fund) funds around three stages of developers' learning, product construction and product listing.
