Who will get lost in the long road of cloud computing?

Release time: January 22, 2021 11:38:21
Under the current difficult situation, core technologies, including chips, cloud computing, the Internet of Things, big data, artificial intelligence, edge computing, blockchain, etc., are increasingly becoming the inevitable requirements of society and the core competitiveness of enterprises in the digital society. This is a long way to go, which cannot be overemphasized. So who will get lost in the long road of cloud computing?
 Who will get lost in the long road of cloud computing?
From a domestic perspective, Huawei is far ahead in chip design, and has certain strength in cloud computing, artificial intelligence and other fields. Alibaba is also far ahead in cloud computing, and has considerable advantages in big data, blockchain, artificial intelligence and the Internet of Things.

Baidu has certain advantages in AI, and also occupies a place in big data. Tencent has accumulated in big data, and is the leader of the second group in cloud computing. AI and blockchain also have certain strength.
Affected by this outbreak, some enterprises have suffered heavy losses due to business depression, but this will not last for long. Some enterprises have suffered the greatest impact. However, if they have the strength to support, even if they are impacted again, they can find opportunities in the crisis and obtain unexpected transformation development.

In the face of pressure from the United States, Huawei has been indomitable and still stands firm. In the first half of 2010, Huawei achieved a sales revenue of 454 billion yuan, up 13.1% over the same period of the previous year, and a net profit increase of 9.2%. Among these revenues, operators' revenue was 159.6 billion yuan, enterprises' revenue was 36.3 billion yuan, and consumer service revenue was 255.8 billion yuan.

Alibaba has also grown in this outbreak, especially cloud computing. Performance data shows that Alibaba Cloud's business revenue is about $2.2 billion, up 60% from $1.4 billion in the same period last year; It increased by 25.7% from the previous quarter's US $1.75 billion.

According to Alibaba Cloud's revenue data for the last six quarters, it has maintained a growth rate of about 60%, far higher than Amazon AWS's monthly growth rate of 30%. The proportion of cloud service revenue in the overall revenue in the quarter rose to 9.6%, compared with 7.9% in the same period last year.

In Tencent's latest financial report, the revenue of cloud computing business has also not been announced, which has not been announced for several consecutive quarters.

According to Tencent Q3 financial report data, the revenue of Fintech and enterprise service business in the third quarter increased by 24% year-on-year to 33.255 billion yuan. This growth is mainly due to the growth of revenue from commercial payment and wealth management platforms, while the growth of enterprise service revenue has slowed down, which is due to the subsequent impact of the outbreak of disease on offline project development and the signing of new contracts, as well as the non recurring adjustment of some IaaS contracts.

Among the operators, China Telecom's Tianyi Cloud and China Mobile's Mobile Cloud are also working hard to seize a larger market share.

Disease prevalence is a catalyst for the rapid development of cloud computing. Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, said, "The past five months have clearly shown that technological strength is the key factor for enterprises to remain resilient. Organizations that can build their digital capabilities will get out of this crisis faster and become stronger. This article was published in the Wall Street Journal, pointing out that after the outbreak of the epidemic, the company arranged employees to work remotely and use related equipment, and cloud computing business grew rapidly at the beginning of the outbreak.

It can be seen from this that in the wave of cloud computing development, Microsoft, IBM, Alibaba and other enterprises with strong technical strength have become big winners. Instead of being negatively affected, they have expanded their leading edge. Now the question comes, who will fall behind?
Maybe some judgment criteria can be given:

Enterprises with strong technical strength but insufficient investment and reserves;

The traditional cattle raising industry is too profitable, and there is no pressure to slow the transformation of enterprises;

Enterprises lacking 2B gene;

There is no long-term development plan, only focus on immediate profits.
 Who will get lost in the long road of cloud computing?
Micronet believes that whether it can keep up with the pace of the army on the long road of cloud computing depends on whether it can really improve the productivity of users. For example, for large enterprises with their own complete and efficient data centers, using outsourced cloud services may not improve efficiency, but will reduce your productivity; But for many small and medium-sized enterprises, sharing cloud computing resources with other enterprises can bring higher efficiency. In addition, cloud computing providers provide different services and measurement standards. If a cloud service company only provides simple network storage space, it is even simpler; If it is an enterprise application product, it has high requirements for the data center that provides cloud computing, and it must have high reliability, fault tolerance and availability. Only by doing so, can we make ourselves invincible. Huawei Cloud does very well in this regard, and will be better in the future.
