Understanding the meaning of various domain names helps to understand the security situation of domain names and the reasons for their abnormal use, so as to take corresponding measures in a timely manner. The newly registered domain name may have the following status: - AddPeriod: The registration office sets the new registration period of the domain name (the status that will appear within 5 days of the new registration of the domain name will not affect the use of the domain name, and will be automatically removed after 5 days)
- Ok: Normal state (it can be used normally. There is no immediate operation and no protection measures are set. When there are other states, the OK state is not displayed, but it does not mean abnormal)
For the protection of domain name registration information, the following states will appear after the domain name is locked: - ClientDeleteProhibited: The registrar sets the prohibition of deletion (to protect a status of the domain name, the domain name cannot be deleted)
- ServerDeleteProhibited: The registry has set the prohibition of deletion (to protect the status of the domain name, the domain name cannot be deleted)
- ClientUpdateProhibited: The registrar sets the prohibition on updating (domain name information, including registrar/management contact/technical contact/payment contact/DNS, cannot be modified, but resolution records can be set or modified)
- ServerUpdateProhibited: The registration office sets the prohibition on updating (domain name information, including registrant/management contact/technical contact/payment contact/DNS, cannot be modified, but resolution records can be set or modified)
- The clientTransferPromoted registrar sets the transfer prohibition (a state of protecting the domain name, and the domain name cannot be transferred to the registrar)
- The serverTransferPromoted registry has set the prohibition of transfer (to protect the status of domain names, domain names cannot be transferred to registrars. Some new domain names and transfer registrars will be set to this status by the registry within 60 days, and will be automatically removed after 60 days; some domain names are set by the registry for arbitration or litigation, and will be removed after the end of arbitration or litigation)
Other statuses that prohibit resolution and renewal: - PendingVerification
- ClientHold: The registrar sets a pause for resolution (in this state, domain name resolution is suspended, and you need to contact the registrar to remove this state)
- ServerHold
- Inactive: inactive (domain name DNS is not filled in during registration and cannot be resolved, so domain name DNS needs to be set at the registrar)
- ClientRenewProhibited/serverRenewProhibited: The registrar or the registry has set a prohibition on renewal (the domain name cannot be renewed, and in this state, it usually means that the domain name is in the arbitration or court dispute period, and you need to contact the registrar to confirm the reason)
- The pendingTransfer registry is in the process of setting transfer (the domain name is in the process of transferring the registrar)
- RedemptionPeriod Registration Bureau sets the redemption period (the domain name is in the redemption period, you can contact the registrar to redeem at a high price)
- The pendingDelete registration office sets the period to be deleted/redeemed (for international domain names, this status indicates that the domain name has passed the redemption period and is waiting to be deleted, and will be open for re registration after deletion; for domestic domain names, this status indicates that the domain name is in the redemption period, and you can contact the registrar to redeem it at a high price)
