What is a snapshot

A snapshot can retain the state of disk data at a point in time. With snapshots, you can quickly and easily restore the ECS to its previous state. For this reason, ECS snapshots are mainly used in development and test environments. If you need to recreate a specific state or condition to solve the problem, it is very useful to master a simple way to restore ECS.

Snapshots have the following advantages:

  • Online data recovery to ensure data integrity.
  • Fast creation and recovery.
  • It is more conducive to efficient and risk-free application software testing.

  • The ECS must be running or powered off to create/restore/delete snapshots.
  • The use of ECS is not affected during snapshot creation and deletion.
  • Restoring the snapshot will interrupt the ECS business.
  • The duration of snapshot recovery depends on the size of snapshot data.
  • When snapshots exist, you cannot reinstall, upgrade, downgrade, or PUSH. If you need to do so, delete the snapshot first.
  • The snapshot function does not support refunds.
